Ruth is a keen walker and recognises the health
benefits of walking. When promoting the new guide book “24 walks in the
Clwydian Hills and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”, she said
"Walking is important for our health and wellbeing. Even better when you
walk in our beautiful countryside. This easy to use book will inspire you to
get going or try new walks in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Why not
give your wellbeing a boost by trying these routes?"
We are all
really pleased that Dr Hussey, following her retirement as Chief Medical
Officer for Wales, has agreed to become President of our Area. Dr Hussey’s
support recognises the importance of walking to all of our health. The
Ramblers want to inspire everyone to give walking a try whether it’s your
local park, a walk in the Clwydian Hills or a Ramblers led walk. Walking is
fun, it’s free and ‘just what the doctor ordered’.
