North Wales Walking Festival 2018

North Wales Summer Walking Festival

28 July – 5 August 2018

We are pleased to announce that this year we are organising our first ever Summer Walking Festival which will run from 28 July to 5 August.  There will be a wide range of walks right across all six counties of North Wales.  Walks are graded from leisurely strolls to very strenuous mountain challenges – something to suit all levels of fitness we hope.

All the walks will be led by our experienced walk leaders and will be an ideal opportunity for all to come along and enjoy the fresh air and our wonderful North Wales countryside.  The Festival takes place during the summer school holidays and offers families the chance to get out walking together.  For anyone who may feel isolated or who lives alone why not join in some of the walks and socialise with our members – many long-time friendships (and even marriages) have resulted from meeting others on our walks!  Whatever your level of fitness there is something to suit you and, hopefully, help you to achieve even better health.

The Festival will launch in Llanfairfechan on 28 July with one of the first walks led by Joanna Slattery, the Chair of the North Wales Area of Ramblers Cymru.  Llanfairfechan is easily accessible by public transport with frequent buses (5 and 5X) travelling from both the Bangor and Llandudno directions.

We look forward to meeting you on one of our Festival walks which are all listed below.  Please make sure that you come along wearing the clothing and footwear suitable for both the weather and the ground over which you will be walking. If you are not already a member of the Ramblers you are very welcome to join our walks and we will be able to offer you a discounted membership as your reward for venturing out with us.

As mentioned already we have included walks of various grades of difficulty and the following codes will help you decide which walks are best suited to your abilities and levels of fitness:

Graddfa/Grades

A – Taith galed/Strenuous

B – Cymedrol i rai mewn cyflwr da/Moderate for those who are fit

C – Cymedrol/Moderate
